Community Celebration
On Saturday 27th June 2026 we celebrated what courage means to our communities here at SRCF. Through wonderful performances, art, games, food and conversations, Refugee Week 2026 celebrated the contributions, resilience and talents of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. We were very happy to host at our new office just down the road from St Giles.
This year was SRCF’s biggest celebration yet, with three separate events celebrating the week. The Refugee Week Celebration was sponsored by Southwark Council.
Women’s Wellbeing Day
The Women's Wellbeing Day was a heart warming and impactful event, designed to support and uplift asylum-seeking women currently residing in the 4 hotels in Southwark. This year we hosted an Ethiopian coffee session, a mindfulness session and a range of stalls providing the ladies with henna, eyebrow, nail and massage services. We invited our partner organisations like Migrant Help, Southwark Public Health and Lovo to discuss the services available in the borough.
Football tournament
with Dulwich Hamlet Supporters Trust
This year SRCF collaborated again with Dulwich Hamlet Community Trust to host our third annual Refugee Week football match. Players from all four Initial Accommodation Centres (IACs) in Southwark formed two teams and faced off on the pitch at Burgess Park. Dulwich Hamlet provided us with spare home and away kits for the year 2025/26, the players were pleased to be representing the local team!
