Expert by experience 2025-2026 report

This report details the first year of the experts by experience (EBE) panel, the topics they discussed and the methodology behind the project.

EBE has hosted a cohort of experts from; asylum seeker, refugee, and vulnerable migrant communities. Panel members were able to present their own ideas and experiences that has directly shaped policy. Outcomes have been significant for the wider communities represented and the panel members themselves.

A diverse set of communities and people are represented by the EBE panel, including members of local Refugee and Migrant Community Organisations (RMCOs) and lived experience groups.

The panel has discussed a new employment surgery led by lived-experience, delivered a vaccination awareness campaign for NHS Southeast London, and contributed to research by City St George’s University published by the World Health Organisation.
